Eco Articles

Website and newsletter publishers on the Internet are constantly on the lookout for a source of fresh and relevant articles on a wide range of topics, but often find it difficult and time consuming to locate reliable and knowledgeable authors. On the other hand, serious content authors find it difficult to stand out amongst the crowds of amateur authors in a bid to get noticed by publishers. If you were to look at it closely, you will realize that this problem does not only plague online authors and publishers, but has beleaguered those in the print industry for decades.

Some people who saw this problem on the Internet, came up with the idea of establishing a platform to bring together online authors and publishers, much like a matchmaking service. Typically, authors submit their original articles or content under specific categories and over time, a large bank of articles will be created, containing thousands of articles readily available for webmasters and publishers to include in their publications.

The article bank website itself benefits from this by placing context-sensitive text-based advertisements on the article pages, thereby enjoying revenue to keep their business going and to offer better services to their customers. Article authors benefit by being able to include their information box at the end of their articles, which typically have a link back to their own website, in addition to enjoying a percentage of the advertisement revenues from the article bank. Webmasters and publishers benefit by being able to access an entire range of fresh content for their publications for free, and finally, the readers of the publications enjoy being able to read regularly updated content for a low price or for free.

As can be seen above, this is indeed an excellent business model which benefits everyone involved in the process, right from article creation, to content hosting, to advertizing, right to the consumers. It is therefore not surprising to see many companies jumping onto the bandwagon to provide such services, and one of them is www.eco-articles.com, which specializes in content related to sustainable living and the ecology.

Eco Articles is indeed a well developed website and is well suited to serve as a platform for the exchange of ecology-related articles. It has many features which are found on more established websites including RSS-feeds, notifications, and of course a list featuring the top authors. However, despite its completeness in terms of features, it lacks the exact thing it was setup to market, i.e. content. At the time of writing, there are only two articles listed on the entire website, both of which have been authored by the webmaster.

However, keeping in mind that this website was established only this year, it would be premature to judge whether it is a success or failure at this point in time. If the webmaster is able to attract a large number of authors to this website, it will automatically be able to pull in the content-hungry publishers. The trick is of course to compete with the more established article marketing websites. Given the full featured nature of the website, however, one would like to say that it will not be long before Eco Articles will be able to rival the content of the best article marketing websites on the Internet.
