IC Photos offers a unique service on the Internet by providing a searchable database of photos of semiconductors and other electronic components. A search box at the top of the page allows users to input the electronic part number of the component they wish to locate, and the search engine will display all the matching components with that part number. The search is quite powerful and is able to provide results with partial matches.

This is a very useful feature to have, since many times people may not actually have the complete part number. This could be either due to faded print on the component itself or misquoting of part numbers which tend to be rather lengthy. Additionally, certain electronic components come in different revisions, and this facility shows the other components which may closely resemble the component being looked for.

For example, if someone were to search for the partial part number of V48C, they would be presented with 15 matching results at the time of writing. The results are shown in a neat, easy to read tabular form and display several pieces of information relevant to the components alongside the part number. If the user finds a match in one of the results, he or she needs to simply click on the underlined part number to be taken to the detailed information page of the part. On this page, the user is able to view more photos of the same product, with detailed information including description, alternative SKUs, manufacturer, date code, source country, datasheet, packaging and condition.

If the user is interested in obtaining a piece of this electronic component, there is an easy link at the bottom which links to USBid. Essentially, IC Photos is owned by USBid, which is an online one-stop global marketplace for hard to find and obsolete electronic components. Once the user clicks on a product, they are able to request for a quotation for the product by keying in the quantity they are interested in and simply hitting the Get Quote button.

Additionally, IC Photos also features a full-fledge electronics part catalog, which allows users to browse through the thousands of products featured on their website by category. To make it easier for users, there are two categories by which users can browse, either alphabetically or numerically. There is also an interesting feature on the website which showcases recently added electronic components as well as the top components searched for by users on the previous day.
